Working in two Federation schools, all of which are highly regarded in the local area, trainees are provided with a mentor in school as well as with a university tutor, both of whom work closely with trainees to ensure learning is rapid and maximum progress is made. Combined with the professional training which is provided both at school and at university, we like to think that a training place with the Wokingham Federation is second to none in the country.
Don’t hold back from applying for a teacher training programme because of your subject knowledge. You may still be able to train to teach these subjects (and be eligible for the bursaries they attract) by building up or refreshing your existing knowledge with a Subject Knowledge Enhancement programme. Information from the DfE is at https://getintoteaching.education.gov.uk/subject-knowledge-enhancement-ske-courses.
Details of bursaries can be found at Get Into Teaching – Explore My Options.
Our offer now includes a route into teaching for potential primary school teachers. Please see the following, Primary PGCE at the Institute of Education, University of Reading, for an introduction to the programme.
